A BIT ABOUT US

Little Green Paws is an earth-conscious pet sitting service, based in Twickenham, UK. We believe that all animals should be treated with respect, kindness and love, and this is reflected in everything we do. To complement this we also make a conscious effort to minimise our impact on the environment. In addition, 10% of the service fees are donated to a different animal sanctuary each month, so your fur-baby can help others in need.

I have over 8 years experience in pet sitting, with a lifelong passion for animals. This lead me to study Zoology BSc at University College London, graduating in 2017. My passion for animals extends past pet animals, to animals caught in the animal agriculture and animal testing industries, and my dream is to eventually morph Little Green Paws into a doggy daycare, supporting a sanctuary for farm animals and rodents.

I am currently the proud guardian of my three rehomed dogs, Rio, Elmo and Arlo; four rescue Guinea pigs - Zazu, Flicker, Cyril and Ozzie; and a group of nine rescue mice. I also foster guinea pigs and small furries for local charity Animal Rescue & Care (ARC) Twickenham.

My life always has, and always will, revolved around animals. And I would't have it any other way. 

Experience

In addition to my experience with my own animals, I have worked in a few different areas of pet care while at university, and since graduating. 

​

  • Battersea Dogs and Cats Home - I volunteered at Battersea for over 4 years, which gave me probably the most valuable experience of my life. Here I learnt so much about dog behaviour, and how to help enrich dog's lives while they were in kennels. It also gave me a lot of experience with a wide variety of breeds and temperaments.

  • Veterinary surgery work experience - I have done a couple of placements at veterinary practices, which has given me a great insight into handling animals who are under stress, as well as getting to know the basics of dog and cat health.

  • Bazil & Ruby Pet Boutique - I had a wonderful year working as a shop assistant at Bazil & Ruby, learning so much about dog care and nutrition, and getting to interact with lots of dogs too.

  • Over 6 years experience as a pet care professional. I have worked with all different types of dogs, from Chihuahuas to Bernese mountain dogs.

​What started as a hobby has blossomed into this little business, and I continue to learn every day.
